HARRISBURG UNIVERSITY

What is Day 1 CPT at Harrisburg University?

Harrisburg University of Science and Technology (HU) is a regionally accredited, private non-profit university focused on STEM education. It offers “Day 1 CPT”—a Curricular Practical Training authorization effective from the very start of your academic program. CPT allows F‑1 visa students to begin paid work (internship or practicum) as long as it is integral to their field of study. HU’s master’s programs are designed with this built-in practical component.

HU offers 11 master’s programs with Day 1 CPT eligibility, all STEM-certified—including popular degrees such as:

  • MS Analytics
  • MS Computer Information Sciences
  • MS Cybersecurity Operations and Control Management

Each program consists of 36 semester credit hours, typically completed over two years. Coursework includes one online and one in-person class per semester, with on‑site sessions held on Saturday mornings and afternoons, usually once per month.
